During our podcast recording, there were multiple reports of Sony's PlayStation Network showing signs of new life. Just minutes after, major gaming news sites were confirming the reactivation of PSN. Get on there while you can, download the update, and be sure to both change your password and remove any credit card info you had on there just to be safe.

Glad its back online for you PS3 guys. Hope there are no issues again. I would have been nuts if that had been my only outlet for gaming.

Additional information with a statement from Kazuo Hirai.
PlayStation Network restoration begins, first phase includes online play | Joystiq

On a personal note, it looks like things will be more difficult for me to get back online as I no longer have the original console I created my account on. I still have not received the new password prompt.

I felt kinda dumb afterwards that this happened because me and Albert really dug into the whole PSN debacle. Thankfully, PSN is up now for people and I'm glad that gamers have a chance to get back online
